The Loving Kindness Prayer

This compilation was created to demonstrate the Breathing Strings dynamic. The literal music is all the same, but when each musician follows their breath, each note collapses into the next in a completely unique way. These recordings (with the exception of the album version) are taken from performances held in May 2018 in Iceland, Northern Ireland, and England by completely different string quartets. Each concert had it's beautiful characteristics, which is evident in these recordings.

The purpose of this music is to express the power of individualism within the context of community. It is about embracing the harmony as well as the tension and recognizing it all as as a gift that creates something truly unique and beautiful.
